A woman leaves the Austrian monastery to become the governor’s children’s widow.

George Hurdalek (with several comments from) (like Georg Hurdalek), Howard Lindsay (from the music book of the forum) | In the thirties in Austria, a young woman named Maria (Lady Julie Andrews) failed in her attempts to become a nun. While Captain Georg Von Trapp (Naval Captain) (Christopher Plummer) writes to the convent and asks the governor who can handle his seven corrupt children, Mary gets the job. The captain’s wife is dead, and often absent, and she manages the house as ruthlessly as the ships do. The children are unhappy and disgusted with the governors who continue to hire their father, and have managed to dismiss him one by one. When Mary arrives, she initially encounters the same hostility, but her kindness, understanding, and sense of humor soon draw them to her and bring much-needed joy throughout their lives, including that of a captain. Eventually he and Maria fall in love, even though Georg is already engaged to a fiancé and Maria is still the protagonist. Love leaves them all questioning the decisions they made. Yao …
